“Status Update: Ja Morant and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope are active and available for the Grizzlies tonight against the Heat.

The star point guard has been dealing with an ankle problem since the end of the offseason. Morant was forced to miss several preseason games with an ankle injury. however, I Morant never seemed too worried with an injury to begin with, as he dismissed any concerns that the situation was long-term.

Morant played in the Grizzlies’ first win over the New Orleans Pelicans, 128-122. The two-time All-Star finished with 35 points, three rebounds and an assist that night. He also shot 65.0% from the field while shooting 33.3% from the three-point line. All in all, it was a pretty efficient night for Ja Morant.

The Grizzlies certainly hope their star point guard stays healthy through the 2025-26 season. Especially considering that his most games played in a season came during his rookie year in 2019-20, when he played 67 contests. Overall, he surpassed playing in 61 or more games just three times in his career.
