Ja Morant wishes Jaren Jackson Jr. well after injury news

It was recently announced that the new Utah Jazz would be trading an acquisition Jaren Jackson Jr. will undergo season-ending surgery on the knee. The news comes just a week after Jackson Jr. was traded from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for a package that mostly dealt with draft compensation.
Now, Jackson’s former Grizzlies teammate, point guard I Moranthe reacted to the news with a simple message on social media, citing NBA insider Chris Haynes tweeting reports on X, formerly Twitter.

Morant and Jackson Jr. built a strong bond during their time as teammates with a Grizzlies organization that at one point looked like it was on the cusp of something special in the Western Conference.
However, things ultimately fell apart in Memphis over the past few years, as the team missed the playoffs entirely after an injury-riddled 2023-24 season and then got swept by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round last year.
The lost spell made a trade-deadline selloff in Memphis more or less inevitable this year, and many fans and pundits thought a deal involving Morant could also be on the horizon, especially after he was suspended earlier this year for publicly trashing the coaching staff.
However, Morant has since reiterated his commitment to the Grizzlies organization, though it’s unclear at this point if that prevented the team from trading him at the deadline or if they simply weren’t able to find another team’s offer high enough for their liking.
In any case, the Grizzlies have now moved on from several key players from their beloved team for the 2022-23 season, including Jackson Jr., Desmond Bain and Dillon Brooks.
Memphis will now have some time off for the All-Star break before taking to the floor next Friday, coincidentally against the Jazz.
