Jaden McDaniels dunks over GG Jackson
Monday night doesn’t go exactly as planned for Minnesota Timberwolves. After doing a good job against the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday, 131-114, The Timberwolves had plenty of confidence so they could do it on Monday in another game against the Grizzlies on the road. Unfortunately, the Grizzlies seem to have learned from their past mistakes, as they hold a 16-point lead at the time of writing.
Regardless, the game isn’t over until the game clock hits triple zero. This Timberwolves team will not quit, not until the final whistle. Struggling with upside all game, Minnesota will need more swing games like this one Jaden McDaniels had it in the middle second trimester.
McDaniels, after the Timberwolves held the Grizzlies to a rare turnover on the night, came out in transition and received the ball from Bones Highland. Building a huge steam going to the basket, McDaniels he rose by the thunderbolt one-handed jam right over GG Jackson’s late contest, which drew groans from fans in attendance at FedExForum.

The Timberwolves are enduring a rough night on the road against the Grizzlies

The Timberwolves can be an enigmatic team at times, as they can match up against the best teams in the NBA, as evidenced by their recent win over the Oklahoma City Thunderand then they can struggle against sub .500 teams like the Grizzlies.
Alas, there are nights when certain math deficiencies are simply difficult to overcome. For starters, the Grizzlies made more three-pointers and free throws than the Timberwolves, and were more efficient from the field despite having more shot attempts than Minnesota.
There really aren’t any giveaways in the Western Conference, and the Timberwolves can attest to that firsthand.
