Jake LaRavia admits he ended his relationship in LA after the loss to the Rockets

The Los Angeles Lakers absorbed their third straight loss after bowing to the Houston Rockets, 119-96, at Cripto.com Arena on Christmas Day. The Lakers got off to a slow start and couldn’t find their groove after halftime, allowing the Rockets to cruise to an easy win.
The Lakers fell to 19-10, including 7-5 at home. They have struggled in recent days with injuries to Luka Doncic, Austin Reeves, Rui Hachimura and Deandre Ayton, among others. While an inconsistent roster was a challenge, The Lakers don’t seem to be getting enough effort lately.
But for Jake LaRavi, the problem lies elsewherethough he admitted that he could not exactly lay it out.
“Jake LaRavia said there’s a ‘discontinuity’ on the team right now, but he couldn’t verbalize exactly what it was or what caused it,” ESPN’s Dave McMenamin wrote on X .
Whatever it is, it doesn’t sound good for the Purple and Gold.
But as LeBron James hinted a few days agothere’s no need for the Lakers to hit the panic button. Their recent slump could be short-lived, though, as Reaves re-aggravated his calf injury against the Rockets.
With Reaves possibly missing more time again, LaRavia is expected to step up. He played 23 minutes against Houston, giving five points, four rebounds and one block.
LaRavia’s teammates may not share the same sentiment about “hanging out,” but they should probably admit they haven’t played up to their standards in the last few outings.
The Lakers can snap their three-game homestand against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday.
