Jalen Suggs ejected for a fight between Andre Drummond and Wendell Carter

Jalen Suggs tried to play peacemaker… and ended up in a tunnel. In the middle of the second quarter Orlando Magic match with Philadelphia 76ers things heated up quickly on Wednesday. Wendell Carter Jr. and Andre Drummond tangled under the rim, exchanged words and huddled together as if ready for the first round.
Before anyone could blink, Jalen Suggs ran in and shoved Andre Drummond, which immediately escalated the situation and got players on both sides.

Officials resolved it after a lengthy review. Jalen Suggs answered two technical fouls and was expelled from the Magic-Seekers. Wendell Carter Jr. and Andre Drummond received a double technical. Desmond Bain and Jabari Walker also drew technicals for entering the fight, according to the game report.
Before being ejected, Jalen Suggs had a strong all-around workout. The guard had 4 points, five rebounds and 11 assists in 21 minutes while shooting 0-of-3 from the field. His defensive energy and willingness to dive into chaos usually helps Orlando; this time, the intensity sent him to the locker room early.
The ejection comes at a difficult time for Orlando, which traded streaks with a Philadelphia team that had the hot hand of Tyrese Maxey. The 76ers point guard strengthened the Magic’s defense with his downhill pressure and shot-making.
Orlando, for its part, relied on Anthony Black’s shot creation and Desmond Bain’s spacing and Franz Wagner to stay within striking distance as the game progresses. Wendell Carter Jr. continues to fight inside despite picking up a technical during the altercation.
The final result will depend on how Orlando responds without Jalen Suggs’ perimeter defense and playmaking.
