Jamahl Mosley reassures and jokes about his slight discomfort

Tonight, after returning from the locker room, the Magic reappeared without their coach Jamal Mosley to attack the second half face auk Knicks. He was replaced by Joe Prunty, his first assistant, and no one saw the difference as the Magic largely dominated the others to eventually win 133-121.

“I got a little dizzy, I almost got dizzy on the side. That’s when it started. I probably shouldn’t have yelled at the referee like that. That’s how it started.” he jokes at a press conference. “But I’m doing a lot better now. It was a little scary, but overall it’s a lot better. Our guys did a great job. You have to give credit to them and the coaches for maintaining our standard, which is exactly what we talk about all the time. Especially in the second half.”

Joe Prunty is used to temporary assignments

Mosley has already announced that he will be on the bench tonight, in the game against the Celtics, and he uses the opportunity to pay tribute to his staff, especially Prunty. Having worked for the Hawks and Bucks, Joe Prunty was used to temporary work, and wherever he was, coaches praised his qualities as a first assistant.

“I tried to follow the match with statistics” he continues. “Joe’s great. Joe’s ready. Joe’s a hard worker. Joe’s doing a phenomenal job with these guys. He’s seen more than most people realize. He always talks about our standard. He knows what it is and he knows how guys react to it. You have to give credit to the staff that prepared for the game, knowing that we could only hold them to what we’ve played before. And how we want to do it.”
