Jamal Murray among players on injury report against Hawks

After Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray and the starters are out for a 125-124 overtime win against the Philadelphia 76ers, his name is back on the injury report ahead of Friday’s game against Atlanta Hawks. Murray turned in one of his better performances of the season in a 114-110 win against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday. He finished with 22 points, 17 assists and one steal while leading the undermanned Nuggets to a tough win.

Murray is listed as probable on the Nuggets’ roster injury report for Friday’s game against the Hawks. Still recovering from a sprained left ankle, Murray will likely suit up for Denver.

The Nuggets have won three of their last five games without All-Star Nikola Jokic, who is expected to miss up to six weeks with a left knee injury.

Despite a string of injuries to his team, Jamal Murray is focused on the bright side for the Nuggets things, which includes strengthening him and the rest of his teammates while their MVP candidate, Nikola Jokic, recovers from a long layoff. Murray did a great job as the team moderator. He finished with 17 rebounds as the Nuggets beat one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference this season.

Murray accepts adversity as a challenge for him and the Nuggets, he told Altitude TV after a recent loss to the Bulls.

“We’re building our chemistry, we’re building our relationship. The way we move the ball, the way we share the ball. How we go into every game, our approach to every game. Our execution,” Murray said. “It’ll be better when everyone’s back. It’s a crucial time for us and I think we’re handling it well, except the shots weren’t falling tonight, and that’s always bullshit.”

The Nuggets are 25-12, the third-best record in the Western Conference standings.
