James Harden goes to Cleveland, Darius Garland goes to the Clippers!
Announced on departure this Monday, James Harden I’m already packing: ESPN announces that it is Clippers send as intended to Cavaliersin exchange for Darius Garland and the future second round of the draft!
Therefore, a new “backcourt” of All-Star caliber is born Cleveland : James Harden and Donovan Mitchell. In return, the Clippers bring back Darius Garland, ten years younger than James Harden. Twice in the past, he still faces major physical problems for about a year, at the level of his fingers. That’s undoubtedly why Ohio’s leaders had to attach a future second-round draft pick to the transaction.
Under contract until 2028, receiving more than $40 million per year, the leader has long been the offensive engine of these post-LeBron James Cavs, averaging nearly 19 points and 7 assists in his career, but he will discover a whole new franchise there. And a completely new conference, after almost seven years in the East.
Now we imagine the Clippers will make him one of the cornerstones of their project, possibly with Ivica Zubac and Kawhi Leonard, if the others aren’t traded either, either by Thursday or during the offseason.
Keep in mind that the Cavaliers are also considering parting ways with Lonzo Ball before the end of the week.
