Jared McCain will come out of the freezer in Philadelphia

Finally some good news from the infirmary to accompany this promising start to the season. Sixers ! Doc Paul George he still hasn’t come back and that Joel Embiid has to deal with a fragile knee, Philadelphia is preparing to recover Jared McCainalmost eleven months after his last NBA game.

Selected 16th overall in 2024, the point guard has made an impression during his first two months in the NBA. In an already injury-plagued context, he was a real bright spot early in the season, to the point where he briefly entered the race for the Rookie of the Year trophy, before also going to the infirmary.

A victim of a meniscus injury in mid-December, he had to end the season prematurely. Expected for the second season, he then suffered a torn thumb ligament, further delaying his return.

All that’s missing is Paul George…

This time, his return finally seems inevitable: removed from the injured list yesterday, he is now listed as “probable” for tonight’s game in Chicago, in an unexpected shock at the top of the Eastern Conference.

This will be an opportunity to see him in action again in a team that is much better equipped than last year on the same stage. We are especially looking forward to seeing his association with Tyrese McKayon fire since the start of the season, or even a rookie VJ Edgecombe. Note that Kelly Oubre Jr., injured at the end of the third quarter Sunday, and Joel Embiid, still spared, are no longer on the injured list and should be able to hold their spots.

All that will be missing will be Paul George to complete the Sixers team. The veteran winger continues his rehabilitation after another knee surgery in mid-July. An official return date has not been announced, but we know he has stepped up his efforts since returning to training two weeks ago.
