Jared McCain writes heartfelt farewell message after trade to Thunder
Jared McCain he was grateful for his time with Philadelphia 76ers community before his trade to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
McCain saw his tenure with the 76ers come to an end after two seasons, seeing him traded by Philadelphia to Oklahoma City in exchange for draft compensation. He drew serious attention with strong performances as a rookie before suffering a season-ending MCL injury.
His return to form remains a work in progress this season, without the same efficiency as last year. Although Philadelphia is leaving its standout guard, McCain published a post on social networks thanking the community for the gratitude they have shown him.
“Philly, I am so thankful for everything, the love the city has shown, my teammates and staff becoming family. It will always be home to me and incredibly blessed to be drafted here. So much more to say but I just want to say thank you Philadelphia ❤💙,” McCain wrote.
What’s next for the 76ers after the Jared McCain trade

Jared McCain will be looking forward to the next chapter of his career with the Thunder, moving on from the 76ers after two years.
McCain showed a willingness to score the ball before the injury, as he was microwaved off the bench. Over a total of 60 appearances, he averaged 10 points, 2.2 rebounds and two assists per game during his time in Philadelphia. Oklahoma City will be looking forward to getting back on track with their pre-injury development.
Philadelphia is 29-21 on the season, holding onto sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings. They are above the Orlando Magic and Miami Heat. However, they are behind the Toronto Raptors and Cleveland Cavaliers.
After the Feb. 5 matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers, the 76ers remain on the road for their next contest. They take on the Phoenix Suns and tip-off will begin on February 7th at 9:00 PM ET.
