Jason Kelce breaks down which player must improve against the 49ers

After a season filled with huge victories, brutal defeats and more than a few quarters without a single completed passthe Philadelphia Eagles enter one-elimination play as they welcome the San Francisco 49ers to Lincoln Financial Field for Wildcard Weekend.

All of the Eagles’ stars, from Jalen Hurts to Saquon Barkley, AJ Brown, Jaylen Carter and beyond, will certainly need to step up in their pursuit of another Super Bowl trip, but in order to secure a victory over Kyle Shanahan and company, Philly will need some of their players to contribute and Robert, who will secure his victory on Sunday.

Fortunately, according to the future Eagles Hall of Famer Jason KelceThe Eagles have the perfect player for that in Tank Bigsby, who has proven he can be ideal 1B next to Saquon Barkley on the ground.

“I’m hoping to see some pretty decent use of Tank at this point. I mean, how many times does a guy have to flash to say, ‘Why don’t we give this guy more?’ I mean, that’s the reality. And it goes so well with what Saquon is doing. If you want to be … Saquon is so good at reading these zone plays and hitting them in front, hitting them in the back. “The tank is not reading anything, I am convinced,” noted Kelce at the VIP.

“I think he just gets the ball and he just … SHOOM! Right up, and when you’re a linebacker, unless you fill that hole on a guy like that now, he’s going to get four or five yards. You’ve got to go downhill and fill your gap now. And then you go back to Saquon. That guy gets used to that pace.”

Of course, Kelce isn’t the first person to suggest that Bigsby needs a bigger and more consistent role in the Eagles’ offense, and he has since Howie Roseman traded for him during the fallfans were clamoring to see what the hard-nosed downhill runner could do between the tackles on a dozen snaps per game. However, whether Nick Sirianni, Kevin Patullo and company are willing to give him that workload along with Barkley could affect whether the Eagles advance to the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
