Jason Kidd reveals what needs to change to keep Dallas winning
Jason Kidd and the Dallas Mavericks have lost seven of their last eight games after Friday’s 133-127 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. Kidd says get the ball Cooper Flagg was key and forced into overtime against the Clippers. However, from an overall standpoint, there has to be a big change, says the Mavericks head coach.
Kidd says the Mavericks have struggled to create a quality look on offense, which is an obstacle the team is currently facing in the middle of three games, said Joey Mistretta of ClutchPoints.
“It’s something we talked about and we have to address it. We have to be better if we want to win,” Kidd said. “Being able to get a shot, and you want to get a quality shot. I think turnovers hurt us when we got down in that second overtime. We had some turnovers where we didn’t get a shot. But before that, we’ve got to be better defensively, understanding the tendencies with Harden.
“He’s one of the best and understanding those three is something he wants to get to. So that’s something we’ll look at and hopefully next time we play them, we can do better.”

Ivica Zubac recorded a double-double (27 points, 11 rebounds), and Bogdan Bogdanović added 21 points, including five three-pointers.
Najib Marshall and D’Angelo Russell each scored 28 points to lead six Mavericks in double figures, including rookie Cooper Flegg (16 points) and Klay Thompson (13 points).
Jason Kidd makes a request to the Cooper Flagg Mavericks

Mavericks coach Jason Kidd said his team needs to find a way to get rookie Cooper Flegg the ball more often and praised the No. 1 overall pick for being aggressive on offense. For Kidd, it sent the game into overtime. Flagg admits he’s learning from veteran Kyrie Irvingand his approach is gradually showing itself.
Kidd talked about what he saw from Flagg after Friday’s overtime loss to the Clippers.
“He was good. He was aggressive out there, he got us a tie,” Kidd said. “We got the ball in his hands. We’ve got to be better at getting the ball in his hands there later in the game. He struggled there, a few possessions, but when we did, he took advantage of it and scored.
Kidd also added that he thinks Flagg has been good defensively as the phenom moves through the first month of his rookie campaign.
