Jaylen Brown shares intriguing Jayson Tatum update amid possible 2025-26 return.


Boston Celtics All-Star Jailen Brown gave encouraging information about the injuries Jayson Tatum at All-Star Media Day. For many, The Celtics’ trade for Nikola Vucevic heralded the return of Tatumor at least, the organization’s desire for the team, until the All-Star forward has made a final decision on whether he should return this season.

For Brown, Tatum looks better as he approaches final stages of recovery since tearing his Achilles tendon in the Celtics’ second-round playoff series against the New York Knicks last year. Brown addressed Tatum’s rehabilitation during his media availability Saturday, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.

“From what I’ve seen, he looks pretty darn good,” Brown said, as Tatum’s potential return for the season nears.

The Celtics added to their frontcourt at the deadline in the Nikola Vucevic trade with the Bulls for Anfernee Simmons. Despite the guard leading the NBA in points off the bench, the Celtics have added a big piece to round out their All-Star tandem in Jaylen Brown and, hopefully, Jayson Tatum in the midst of his comeback.

The Celtics trading for Vucevic adds to the front office’s belief that Tatum will be back before the end of the regular season, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.

“The Celtics’ decision to acquire Nikola Vucevic from Chicago before the trade deadline in exchange for the expiring contract of Anfernee Simmons was a clear indication that Boston believes Tatum will indeed return to the postseason,” Stein said.

The Celtics enter the All-Star break with the second-best record — 35-19 — in the Eastern Conference.
