Jaylen Brown threw down the mic for not getting punished for NSFV swearing
on wednesday The Boston Celtics are back into the win column with a comfortable home victory over the Washington Wizards. This win was preceded by an ugly loss at home to the Utah Jazz, one in which Jaylen Brown appeared to trip on a play in the final minutes but didn’t get the call, leading to a Utah bucket at the other end.
Brown has since blasted the officials and was vindicated by the final two-minute report, and most recently, it was discovered that he suffered no punishment for his harsh comments.
“Jaylen Brown has not been fined by the NBA for his comments criticizing a missed call in the final minute of Monday’s 105-103 loss to Utah.” #Jazz. He fully expected the penalty, but the NBA ruled it a missed call and a foul on the two-minute report. “I guess they understood (my anger),” he said, the Boston Globe’s Gary Washburn said of the Celtics.
While the missed call certainly didn’t help, the Celtics also lost the game against the Jazz due to their inability to rebound offensively, as Jusuf Nurkic scored the game-winning layup with less than a second left.
Interesting times for the Celtics

Currently, the Boston Celtics are 4-5, good for tenth place in the Eastern Conference at this early point in the season. The bottom half of the playoffs is roughly in line with where most pundits expected the Celtics to be this season given the fact that Jayson Tatum is out and the team had to trade both Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday in the offseason.
Some Celtics fans will want the team to fully embrace being bad and hope to compete for a high lottery pick, while others don’t want to see the team miss the playoffs for the first time since 2013-14.
At this point, it seems like the Celtics may still be too talented to be among the worst teams in the league this year.
