Jaylen Williams can finally start his season with the Thunder!
The competition can already blink: ESPN announces that Jalen Williams will return to the courts this Friday night, during the decisive meeting of the NBA Cup between Thunder and the Suns (the winner will qualify directly for the quarterfinals).
Good news for the reigning champions, bereft of a winger from recoveryfor his sake right wrist surgerywhich happened last July. Logically, the franchise did not want to rush his return, since we remember that in the playoffs he got almost 30 infiltrations (!) that they can be trained with OKC…
Slowed down by a few setbacks in his rehab, Jaylen Williams has already missed 19 games this season and, since he will be ineligible for trophies at the end of the year, he has just say goodbye to a possible financial bonus.
However, his absence did not prevent the Thunder from doing well collectively: 18 wins and 1 loss!
Last season, “J-Dub” established himself as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s first lieutenant with his 21.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.6 steals average. It is obvious that his performances then motivated the leaders of OKC to extend it for a very nice sum over the summer: $239 million over five years.
