Drafted in the first round in 2024, Tyson didn’t get much of a chance last season, blocked at his position by Max Struss and Mitchell.

“I would say his toughness, his leadership and the way he plays without the ball”explains Tyson when asked what he learned from Strus last season. “Max doesn’t have much of the ball, especially in this back five with Darius (Garland), Don and Evan who need it. But I remember the way he moves without the ball and the way he has a big impact on winning.”

Big mouth in the locker room

As for Kenny Atkinson, he appreciates his character. Against Portland, he didn’t hesitate to speak in the locker room! “He’s a little crazy, but the veterans respect him”, Cleveland’s coach reports. “He has no filter, but in a good way. I know his brother plays American football, so he has that mentality in him, you know, he’s just exuberant. But we encourage that. He’s not told to watch his words. We accept that, and the veterans respect that because he plays incredibly hard.”
