Jayson Tatum is “rethinking” his injury return timeline

Fans on Boston Celtics he got excited afterwards Jayson Tatum seemingly hinted recently that he is close to returning to action.

A few days ago, a video of his training spread on social networks. Tatum, who is recovering from an Achilles injury, looked fit and ready to go. Even Derrick White was impressedsaying it’s great to see his teammate add “more movement” in his rehab.

While the Celtics are doing well in his absence, Tatum said he wants to play this season. NBA insider Chris Haynes, however, claimed he is a six-time All-Star now thinking twice about his plan.

“It was always a foregone conclusion that Tatum would try to try and come back at some point during the season after suffering an Achilles tear, but league sources have informed me right now that Jayson Tatum is now reevaluating his situation and it’s up in the air whether he will even return this season,” Haynes said on NBA Television.

“I’m told there are several factors why it got to that point. But as of now, it’s changed the whole landscape.”

He added that the 27-year-old Tatum told him personally a few months ago that he was “getting closer” to a return.

Without Tatum, many thought Boston would tank this season, especially after parting ways with Kristaps Porzingis, Jrue Holiday and Al Horford. The Celtics, however, surprised many by remaining competitive.

They are tied with the New York Knicks for second place in the Eastern Conference with an identical 29-18 record.
