Jimmy Butler becomes full Ovious captain after beating Spurs

Jimmy Butler he called himself afterwards Golden State Warriors stomped the Oklahoma City Thunder by 24 points on Tuesday. He admitted that he had to cut losses, while also challenging his teammates to be better.
Butler’s blunt message was heard loud and clear as the Warriors pulled off a come-from-behind victory over the San Antonio Spurs, 125-120, on Wednesday to improve to 7-2.
The 35-year-old Butler was instrumental in the victory, pouring in 28 points, including 5-of-7 shooting from long range, six rebounds, eight assists and three steals. He had zero losses.
However, the veteran veteran refused recognition and highlighted the strategy it primarily helped them beat Spurs and survive Victor Wembanyama’s triple-double.
“Give the ball to 30 (Stephen Carr) and get out of the way,” Butler said, per Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area.
“Talent is going to create a deficit, and I think that’s what we focused on tonight. Give Steph the ball, get out of the way and let Steph do what he’s done for so many years in this league, and good things will happen.”
It sure worked. Curry finished with a game-high 46 points on 13-of-25 shooting from the field, five rebounds, five assists and two steals. It was a big comeback for the two-time MVP, who scored just 11 points in the loss to the Thunder because he was nursing a cold.
Despite the short turnaround, the 37-year-old Curry recovered for battle in San Antonio and put on another unforgettable show.
“He’s going to do what he does. It’s our job, everyone else’s, to do what we’re supposed to do. It’s the players who are really going to win, and I’m one of them,” Butler added.
The Warriors and Spurs meet again on Friday.
