Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green listed as probable against Blazers

The Golden State Warriors face the Portland Trail Blazers NBA Cup group game. However, it will do so with a few key names appearing on the injury report, including stars Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green.
According to team officials status updateButler (right lower back strain), Green (illness) and Buddy Hield (illness) are all listed as probable for the game, while Jonathan Cumminga remains out with bilateral knee patellar tendinitis.
De’Anthony Melton is also out after left ACL surgery. The Warriors enter the contest at 9-8, ranked eighth in the West and looking to secure their second straight tournament win of the season after a 1-0 start.
Golden State is coming off a stretch in which they relied heavily on scoring from Stephen Curry and saw significant contributions from role actors such as Moses Moody, Brandin Podziemski and Will Richard.
However, the presence of Butler and Green remains central to the team’s identity, with Butler as a reliable late-game scorer and tone-setter and Green as the defensive engine and primary facilitator behind Curry.
Meanwhile, the Trail Blazers (6-9) arrive in San Francisco depleted by injuries of their own.
Damian Lillard (left Achilles), Scoot Henderson (hamstring), Jrue Holiday (calf), Shaedon Sharpe (calf), Robert Williams III (knee), Matisse Thibulle (thumb) and Blake Wesley (foot) all appear on the injury report, with several key names questionable or ruled out.
Forward Jeramie Grant is expected to play despite illness.
Portland has remained competitive thanks to new starter Donovan Clingan, who leads the team with 10 rebounds per game and anchors one of the strongest rebounding units in the West (45.0 per game).
The Warriors are 8-4 against Western Conference opponents and 1-0 in one-possession games, an encouraging sign for a potentially tough tournament matchup. With tournament stakes and roster uncertainty on both sides, the availability of Butler and Green could set the tone early.
Tipoff is set for 7:30 PM ET from the Chase Center.
