JJ Redick and Luka Doncic are fed up!
THE Lakers will they treat themselves to a mini-crisis before they fall in 2026? This is possible since the team remains on three defeats in a row, and the main problem, the defense, remains.
Against rocketsteammates from Luka Dončić they died when jumping, and in racket in general. They suffered like that during the whole match and for JJ Redickit is no longer possible to continue like this.
“We’re not involved enough, and that’s what bothers me a lot” the Lakers coach said. “We’re not involved enough to do what’s needed, and act like professionals. I always say this about identity: a good team is like an organism that works together, and that can change very quickly. Well, we don’t have an identity. It’s a matter of choice, and some people don’t make it.”
“I won’t go through 53 matches like that again”
Listening to JJ Redick, his team hit rock bottom against the Rockets, and he has a few players in his sights. And it’s even more unfortunate that he already was sounded the alarm in the previous match. “The two words of the day were effort and execution. I feel like when we do those two things at a really high level, we’re a good basketball team. When that’s not the case, we’re a very bad team, and tonight we were a very bad team. And it started right away.”
The same observation with Luka Dončić, who lost his smile. “I don’t know what needs to change, but it’s clear that it needs to change!” started by Slovenian. “We’ve had a blast in the last three games. Honestly, it’s very ugly… We have to find solutions. Everyone has to talk about it. I know JJ warned that it won’t be pleasant, but we have to go through it. Me first, we have to work harder.”
Indeed, JJ Redick warned that Saturday’s practice won’t be fun. “Saturday’s training, and I told the players, will be tough. The meeting will be tough. I’m not going to relive 53 matches like that.”
