JJ Redick is taking charge of the ball scrimmage in Los Angeles


Hoping to bounce back from Sunday’s 111-89 loss to the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick took responsibility for his team’s offensive struggles. It was the first time his team failed to score 90 points in a game this season. Fans accused Luka Doncic from the Lakers resorted to foul bait as a means to gather an offensive rhythm to no avail.

“When teams play deep down, we have our counters and we just have to (execute),” Redick said. “I took ownership of it. We have our counters for the deep drop. JJ Redick and the Lakers will look to bounce back from their season-low 89 points in Sunday’s loss to the Celtics when they host the Magic on Tuesday.

Veteran forward Rui Hachimura reflected on the Lakers’ lackluster offense after Sunday’s loss to the Celtics. For Hachimura, rebounding is key for the Lakers supplementary offensehe said, according to The Athletic’s Lav Murray.

“I think it’s a faster offense and it allows us to shoot more 3-pointers … That’s one of the lineups we’re looking for, 3-point shooters and a faster offense in transition. It opens up the floor,” Hachimura said. “To be physical. It’s a smaller lineup, so be physical, especially on the rebound. Everybody has to rebound.”

The Lakers have lost three of their last five games.
