Joe Mazzula, Jaylen Brown reveal how Nikola Vucevic has progressed in the attack
Jailen Brown and Joe Mazzulla had positive comments to share Nikola Vucevic following Boston Big win for the Celtics over the Brooklyn Nets on Friday night.
Vucevic is going through the 15th year of his NBA career, the first with the Celtics. He began the 2025-26 campaign with the Chicago Bulls before being traded to Boston for Anfernee Simmons. He has eight games left with the 18-time NBA champion.
Brown and Macula reflected on Vucevic’s system improvement over time after the game against Brooklyn, via the Celtics on the CNLS. Ex loves seeing that the veteran center is more comfortable with that, while the latter is the other I’m looking forward to it fitting in fully bloom.
“Letting him get more comfortable is a big moment for our team. Today was a big step forward. I like to see him aggressive,” Brown said.

“Well, I hope he’s never completely comfortable, because that would mean we’re not going to get any better…” Macula remarked.

As Jaylen Brown, the Celtics played against the Nets

It’s clear that the Celtics will keep getting better as long as Nikola Vucevic continues to improve with his production on the court. For Jaylen Brown and Joe Mazzula, they believe the sky is the limit for the team’s ceiling once Vucevic achieves his goals.
Meanwhile, the Celtics torched the Nets in a convincing 148-111 home win. Boston took control in the second half and never looked back, outscoring Brooklyn 82-54 over the final 24 minutes of the game.
Six players scored in double figures for Boston in the win. Brown led the way with 28 points, nine assists, seven rebounds, two steals and one block. It was Vucevic’s turn with 28 points and 11 rebounds, Peyton Pritchard had 22 points and five assists, Sam Hauser scored 13 points, and Derrick White had 12 points and seven assists.
Boston improved to a 39-20 record on the season, holding second place in the Eastern Conference standings. They are ahead of the New York Knicks by 1.5 games and the Cleveland Cavaliers by three games while trailing the Detroit Pistons by 5.5 games.
The Celtics will look forward to their next game, staying at home. They host the Philadelphia 76ers and tip-off will take place on March 1st at 8:00 PM ET.
