Joel Embiid confirms his rise to power
Five games have been played in a row so far Joel Embiid. This shouldn’t be a feat, but given the history of the Sixers’ pivot, it’s significant for him. Despite playing match after match, the 2023 MVP is doing so at a very good level as he just scored 28 points at 10/14 in a win against the Wizardsin just 25 minutes.
Alexander Sar did not manage to prevent him. It was too easy for the 2024 Olympic champion, who averaged 28.4 points on 54% shooting and 8.2 rebounds during the five-game stretch.
“I have to continue. I was good in this match and that’s a good sign”, he confirmstwo days after playing 40 minutes against Denver. “The best thing is that he plays matches one after another”rejoices Nick Nourse. “And that goes for his day-to-day work and everything else. It’s important for him to keep playing.”
As the weeks go by, Joel Embiid is dealing a double whammy, on a physical level: He’s gaining strength while calming down, after concerns in his first outings at the start of the season.
“I’ll be honest: it moves a lot better than what I saw when I got here”says rookie VJ Edgecombe. “He’s moving better, that’s obvious. He’s the Joel we know, we all see him. He’s capable of scoring 30 points every night, he can do it on command. It’s good to see him move so well.”
Novak admits that he has “a little scared” as soon as he sees that his teammate is on the ground. But for now it holds. “I’m glad to see him in good health. Health is very important”concludes VJ Edgecombe.
