Joel Embiid is listed as day-to-day with a knee injury

The Philadelphia 76ersas long as Joel Embiid is on the roster, he’ll always want to be in the hunt for a champion. Their 7-4 start to the season is impressive in that regard, as Embiid has yet to go full speed since the start of the new campaign and Philly is still limiting his workload. in fact Embiid was a notable absentee during the 76ers’ 102-100 win over the Boston Celtics on Tuesday, and Philadelphia reported soreness in his right knee.

Embiid sat out the second straight game of the season so far for the 76ers, but was otherwise available. This made his absence on Tuesday night that much more glaring. But the good news, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania, is that it’s his right knee it was rated tonight and the team found no structural problems. Therefore, he can be considered to be moving forward day by day.

The schedule also works in the 76ers’ favor. After experiencing back-to-back games through the first few weeks of the season, they have just two games this week — the recently concluded matchup against the Celtics and Friday’s NBA Cup clash against the Detroit Pistons.

This should give Embiid plenty of time to rest and heal from the soreness in his right knee he’s been experiencing. The 76ers don’t just want to rush Embiid back into action, not because of his extensive injury history.

Will the 76ers finally have a full team soon?

The 76ers have been on the receiving end of some injury over the past few years. Embiid’s injury history is well documented. But someone like Paul George, who was healthy for most of his time with the Los Angeles Clippers, ran into a slew of knee problems in his first year with the team and endured one of his worst seasons in recent memory as a result. Even Jared McCain seems so far from being back in shape.

But Embiid dodged a big bullet with this latest injury report, and George seems to be on the fast track on the way back. It should only be a matter of time before the 76ers have their team at full strength.
