Joel Embiid of the 76ers expected to return from the knee injury against the Thunder

The Philadelphia 76ers take on the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Wells Fargo Center with tip-off set for 7:30pm EST. Hoping to make up some ground in the Eastern Conference standings, the Sixers will look to pick up a win on Tuesday night before heading back on the road.

Originally listed as out due to left knee surgery he had in February to address an injured meniscus, Embiid has since been upgraded to questionable on the team’s injury report and he expects to playaccording to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarovski.
Embiid was not at the team’s game before the game, according to a team official.
After slowly working more and more on the court before recently participating in practices with the team, Embiid’s return to the court appeared to be just around the corner. He will now warm up with the intention of playing against the Thunder on Tuesday night.

Oklahoma City will be without All-Star running back Shai Giljus-Alexander and swingman Jalen Williams.
It was reported that Embiid the return is coming and that it could first happen on Tuesday against the Thunder. Wojnarowski said that Embiid return is “imminent”, and that his knee is “healthy”. The 76ers’ superstar center has missed the last 29 games with a knee injury.
Embiid traveled with the 76ers on their recent road trip, watching them lose a close game to the Cleveland Cavaliers and beat the Toronto Raptors while making franchise record 24 triples. His return to the court could not have come at a better time, as the Sixers have lost seven of their last 11 games, falling into the playoff region of the Eastern Conference standings.
Tyrese Maxey, who missed the 76ers’ last game, was listed as questionable with a strained left hip and has been ruled out. De’Anthony Melton (back; lumbar spine stress) and Robert Covington (bruised left knee) are also listed as out.
The question of whether Joel Embiid will play against the Thunder is still not fully answered despite the big man being promoted to questionable. However, his chances of returning look very likely until he gets injured during pre-game warm-ups.
