Joel Embiid, VJ Edgecombe injury status uncertain against Bulls

With all eyes on Philadelphia 76ers injury report for game against Chicago Bullstwo main names are present star Joel Embiid and the newcomer stands out VJ Edgecombe. After an injury scare for 76ers center in Embiid in a 114-106 loss to the Brooklyn Nets, the latest injury report has him and Edgecombe uncertain for Friday’s upcoming game against the Bulls.
Embiid is listed as “suspicious” with “right knee; injury management,” while Edgecombe is also questionable with what is being labeled an “illness.” Another notable name on Philly’s injury report is Quentin Grimes who is questionable due to an ailment, which is uncertain as to whether it is the same as Edgecombe’s.
While the ailment seems relatively easy to recover from compared to Embiid’s long injury history as he deals with a knee issue, he would speak more about leaving the Nets’ loss in the third quarter, explaining that “hyperextended” his knee.
“I just turned it up. We went to the locker room and then they checked it. We’ll see how it feels,” Embiid told the media after the game, according to Sports Illustrated.
While there’s always concern when Embiid is injured, he’s kept the weight down.
“I’m feeling good. I’m starting to feel better, obviously. I’m not fully able to heal my body from everything that’s going on,” Embiid said. “But I feel like some of the major issues coming into the season, body-wise, are pretty good. I’m moving a lot better. Offensively and defensively, I’m able to trust myself even more,” he said.
“So I think the next step right now is just being consistent, as far as game action, and I’m going to get back to myself,” Embiid continued.
No doubt eyes will be on the injury report to see if Embiid and Edgecombe end up playing.
