John Cena has called for a ‘special’ WWE rematch with the TNA star

As John Cena begins his retirement tour in 2025wrestlers around the world are lining up to get one last shot at “The Champion,” including some Superstars who don’t even work for WWE.
That’s right, in a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Nick Nemeth effectively invited Cena to take his talents to the TNA for a one-time rematch in the zone of influencemarking his first appearance outside of WWE in over two decades.
“Yes, it would be (special). “Absolutely, as much as I’d love to catch him, no matter who’s with him at the time, that would be cool as hell because he’s done so much for so many other people, and it’s a big year for everybody in there,” he said. is Nemet for SI. “He won’t even be able to make it all the way because everyone probably, just like Tanahashi, is dying to get in the ring with him one more time because it’s the last one, but man, it would be, it would be a game changer for, (TNA ). It would just help us another step in getting out, if we get John here on that deal, on that partnership.”

With TNA and VVE officially enter into a multi-year employment contract bringing stars from one promotion to another and vice versa, what once seemed like a hoax, could now become a real possibility. And the best part? Nemeth doesn’t want to do it alone, as he’d be down to reunite the band with Big E and AJ Lee to really bring the fans back to their 2013 feelings.
“I just saw Big E on TV; I was like, ‘You know what? It would be funny if Cena was doing one of his RAW nights on Monday night, and he came out, and then Big E came out, and then AJ Lee came out on stage, and then I came out on stage.’ And it just reminded me of 2013, when we had a six-month battle with John, and he smashed that, my briefcase, over my head maybe 45 times in those six months,” Nemeth said. “And I said, ‘That would be a nice visual. It will be a nice moment for the fans to come back and have a moment.’ So you might have that happen, and you might have John appear at one of our live Impacts, or at Genesis or something; I’d like just a moment, just to see the three of us, because we’ve had a nice little, continuous year-long thing with John. That would be really cool.”
Now, of course, that’s easier said than done, since the former doesn’t work for any company, and the latter isn’t allowed to have physical contact after a neck injury in 2023. Still, if Nemeth can get Cena in a TNA ring before he calls it a career, that would be quite the statement, as few had that on their bingo card even a week ago.
