John Cena reveals the 220-day retirement plan they rejected

With only one date left a one-year farewell tour, WWE icon John Cena he recently revealed his original idea for it, and would have many more meetings to make it happen.

During an interview with Bill Simmons, Cena said he wanted to initially work a full year of 220 dates like old times during his VVE Farewell Tour. He would even clean up his Hollywood schedule if he had to. However, given WWE’s new schedule, he only had to do 36, and he seems grateful for that.

“The plan was originally to do a full year — this just shows my ignorance of the business — I wanted to go to 220 meetings, just take a year off everything, hop on a bus, do full WWE calendar, and like, just say goodbye,” he explained. “Thank God the job isn’t like that anymore, because I’d be done. They only needed me for 36 (dates).”

Before Cena began his farewell tour, he revealed that it would consist of “about 36 dates.” Sounds like that has become the final number. VVE Head of Communications Chris Legentil he said it would be “full time”.even if it was only 36 appearances.

Unfortunately for Cena’s fans, there is only one date left on his farewell tour. He will appear on Saturday night’s main eventwhere he will compete in his final match.

His opponent is still to be determined. Gunther is currently slated to face LA Knight during the December 5 edition Friday Night SmackDown. The winner will face Cena in the Saturday night’s main event.

One of them will have the distinct honor of pulling off Cena. While Cena faced the likes of Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Randy Orton and Sami Zayn during his farewell tour, his final opponent may be the most important.
