Jonathan Cumminga will be re-evaluated after the All-Star break

After Tree Young’s blockbuster deal with the Washington Wizards, the Atlanta Hawks’ second major trade deal involved Golden State Warriors. The The Warriorsbut Kuminga is currently sidelined with a knee injury.
Due to injury to Jonathan Cummings will be on the sidelines at least through the All-Star break after which he will be reevaluated, according to NBA insider Marc Stein. Kuminga has been sidelined for the past five games, last playing on Jan. 22 during the Warriors’ loss to the Dallas Mavericks. Kuminga initially suffered the injury during that game.
After a tumultuous last few seasons with the Warriors, Kuminga eventually requested a trade, and the Warriors eventually granted that request. He fell out of favor with head coach Steve Kerr, and before the injury he had a lot of consecutive cancellations, 16 to be exact.
Kuminga has appeared in just 20 games this season, including 13 starts, while logging just over 23 minutes per game. He averaged 12.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting 45.4 percent from the field, 32.1 percent from the 3-point line and 74.2 percent from the free throw line.
The No. 7 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Kuminga spent the last five seasons with the Warriors. He was one of the starting players that came out of the G League’s former Ignite program. His timing and role were a source of contention among fans during that tenure.
