Jonathan Taylor shows his support for Indiana in the finals rematch

It was an early rematch between last season’s finalists as Indiana Pacers hosted the Oklahoma City Thunder at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Thursday.

The Pacers immediately began their campaign with an acid test as they looked to avenge their loss to the Thunder in the NBA Finals in June. Oklahoma City, meanwhile, got its first assignment in nail-biting style, outlasted the Houston Rockets in double overtime.

Many tuned in to watch the meeting between the two teams, including Indianapolis Colts star Jonathan Taylor. He expressed his support for the Pacers with a simple post on Ks.

“#YesCers,” Taylor said.

The 26-year-old guard has been a big supporter of other teams in Indiana. When the Indiana Fever advanced to the semifinals of the playoffs, Taylor also went to X on express your excitement.

He also welcomed Pacers star Tyrese Halliburton when the talented guard was traded by the Sacramento Kings to Indiana in 2022.

“I appreciate you boss @TiHaliburton22. My boys will understand you well!” wrote Taylor on X.

Taylor returned the favor after Halliburton tipped his hat to the two-time Pro Bowler for helping him win an NFL Fantasy championship.

The Pacers face a tough challenge playing without the 25-year-old Halliburton, who is still recovering from an Achilles injury suffered in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

To make matters worse, fellow guard Andrew Nembhard was ruled out for the rest of the game against the Thunder after injuring his shoulder in the first half. Backup guard TJ McConnell is already out with a hamstring injury, leaving the Pacers in a tough spot in the backcourt.

In contrast, the Colts are enjoying a healthy campaign, leading the NFL with a 6-1 record. They are off to their best start since 2009. Taylor has been huge, posting league records of 10 rushing touchdowns and 697 yards.

Perhaps his success could rub off on the Pacers.

At the time of writing, the Thunder are ahead in the second overtime.
