Jordan Ott’s lament after Devin Booker’s injury against the Hawks

PHOENIX – A few moments later Devin Booker suffered an ankle injuryit waved through Phoenix Suns locker room. Coach Jordan Ott felt it more than anyone.

His star suffered another setback. Fortunately, he will be evaluated in a week, but Booker’s absence will be a big one. Even with the next-man-up mentality, Ott said before Sunday’s game what exactly went through that after an injury.

“I think there was a little bit of a grieving process after the Atlanta game, and then you move forward,” Ott said. “That’s what this game is about: how to overcome the next obstacle that’s thrown at you.”

If anyone understands adversity, it would be the Sun. They have dealt with Jalen Green’s injury for all but four games. Booker missed some time with a groin injury, along with Dillon Brooks and Grayson Allen.

Phoenix knows what it’s like, and this could be another bump in the road.

Devin Booker’s injury status is a relief for Jordan Ott and the Suns

What was originally thought to be a potential time frame of four to six weeks, the evaluation process was set to take just one week. Considering what could have been, this is a pleasant surprise for everyone.

though, Booker will do everything he can be on the floor. His team is 26-15 when he plays, and it is clear that he is a leader on the floor.

However, the Suns have five games in seven days, compounding their injury woes. He is averaging 25.4 points and 6.2 assists per game in 34 minutes.

Against some of the more physical and tougher teams, Booker was masterful in calming down his team. Also, he is one of the best scorers in the league and can get to his spots at will.

In any case, it will be another chance for the Sun’s depth to shine during a short but impressive stopover.
