Jordan Poole throws shade at Wizards fans for not being in the mood for a team that could catch fire

The The New Orleans Pelicans have have had a rough start to the 2025 NBA season, currently 0-2 after their last home loss to the San Antonio Spurs. The Pelicans are still working on integrating some new pieces into the group, including Jordan Poolewho the team acquired from the Washington Wizards during the offseason in exchange for CJ McCollum.

Pool has a bizarre numerous shots taken in the Wizards organization and their fans since arriving in New Orleans, and that trend continued with another quote ahead of Monday night’s matchup against the Boston Celtics.

“I loved it. Oh my God, I loved it,” Poole said of his first home game in New Orleans, per Chaz NBA on YouTube, via Hoopshipe . “I went back and told all my people, like — it feels so good to be in an environment where the fans are engaged, and you can feel the electricity inside. You can feel the positive energy. You can feel the fans chanting. Like, the last two years? Dead inside. It was dead in the capital.”

While it’s true that the Wizards aren’t necessarily known for their raucous home environment, Poole hasn’t exactly given fans much to cheer about during his time there.

As mentioned earlier, the New Orleans Pelicans came out of the gate with an 0-2 record, although they played two potential playoff teams from the West in the Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs to open the year.

The Pelicans are still waiting to get Dejounte Murray back from the torn Achilles he suffered last year to be fully healthy, but the team got two strong performances from Zion Williamson to open the year, scoring 27 points in each of the first two contests.

Either way, the Pelicans will host the Celtics on Monday night at 8:00 PM ET, followed by a road trip to face the Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder.
