Jordi Fernandez accepts that the Nets are losing, not that they are losers
By the time they arrived in Los Angeles, Networks were coming off a double overtime loss to Boston in which Nolan Traore stood out. However, the Frenchman, sick, was not trained for this clash against the Clippers. A duel that Tyronn Lue’s men quickly took a 30-point lead from the start of the second quarter…
If the Nets showed a little better at the end of this second act and in the third quarter that they won with a score of 29-28, Brooklyn still lost badly, 126-89.
“We won in the third quarter and were competitive in the last six minutes of the second quarter,” remarks by Jordi Fernandeslooking for the positive in this heavy defeat. “You can lose and be losers. We were competitive for 18 minutes and losers for the other 30. It’s up to us to decide who we are and who we want to be.”
A loss that can be explained by a clear lack of skill in the first quarter, where the Nets made just 4 of their first 19 shots (21%). On the last note, alone Danny Wolf etc Egor Demin reached a score of 10 points, finishing with 14 and 12 units respectively.
A team that has to start fighting again
Michael Porter Jrdespite being in great form since the start of the season, California’s defense lost him and he finished with nine points on 3/11 shooting and 0/4 from distance.
“They were the better team, nothing more to say” simply analyze the winger. “They dominated us in the last game and today. We have to start fighting every night again, from the players to the coach. I could have done better. The five could have done better.”
The Nets are going through a complicated season (12 wins and 32 losses) and the start of 2026 doesn’t help. Since January 1st, Brooklyn has won just two games and lost fourteen. On January 21, they recorded, against the Knicks, the second biggest defeat in their history (120-66)a minus of 54 points!
“It’s part of living, learning and looking for future networks,” explains Jordi Fernandes. “Obviously we will need real players on the pitch, capable of playing at a certain level. In the last three games we were competitive only once, which is not enough. We should have been in all three, it didn’t matter if we won or lost.”
