Josh Allen was under siege against the Texans at levels he had never seen before
Josh Allen had a brutal night against opposing defenses in Buffalo Bills matchup against the Houston Texans on Thursday night.
Buffalo entered the contest with a 7-3 record, standing out as one of the best teams in the league. Allen played a major role in that, performing heroics despite having limitations with his offensive weapons during the 2025 campaign.
However, Houston proved to be the toughest match so far this season. Buffalo’s offensive line couldn’t protect him, giving up eight sacks to the Texans’ defense. It turned out that Allen had not faced in years, especially with eight sacks is a career highaccording to reporters Ralph Vacchiano and Josh Dubov.
“Josh Allen was sacked 6 times by the Houston Texans tonight. It’s his first since the Seattle Seahawks dropped him 7 times on November 8, 2020,” Vacchiano wrote.
“Josh Allen has now been sacked a career-high 8 times and lost a career-high 70 yards on those sacks,” Dubow noted.

It will be a bad offensive night to forget for Josh Allen and the Bills, falling 23-16 to the Texans on the road.
Buffalo and Houston traded blows during the game. The guests led 6-3 after the first quarter, but in the second quarter they scored 17 points. They only managed three more points on a field goal, but couldn’t make enough of a clutch play to pull out the road win.
Allen had a rough night amid eight sacks, failing to score a passing touchdown. He completed 24 of 34 passes for 253 yards and two interceptions.
James Cook III has been a major bright spot in the Bills’ offense, stepping up in light of Allen’s struggles. He had a team-high 17 of 24 catches for 116 yards and a touchdown while recording three catches for 13 yards.
Khalil Shakir led the receiving corps with eight receptions for 110 yards. Ty Johnson was next with three catches for 45 yards, while Dawson Knox caught three passes for 17 yards. Meanwhile, Ray Davis had three punt returns for 145 total yards and a touchdown.
Buffalo fell to 7-4 on the season, but held on to second place in the AFC East division standings. They are above the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets while behind the New England Patriots. As for the AFC standings, they are in sixth place. They are above the Jacksonville Jaguars and Texans while trailing the Los Angeles Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Bills will look to bounce back in their next matchup, staying on the road. They face the Steelers on November 30th at 4:25 PM ET.
