Josh Hart capped off a textbook 3-point heater in the first half with 19 points

Josh Hart turned the Spectrum Center into his personal shooting clinic. New York Knicks forward came out blazing against Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday, he dropped 19 points in the first half and drilled all three of his 3-point attempts, including a slick 3-pointer with 1.2 seconds left in the second quarter to put an exclamation point on the Knicks’ surge.

Behind Hart’s heater, the New York Knicks went into halftime with a 72-47 lead NBA Cup a group game that was supposed to be a routine road test but quickly turned into a statement. New York entered the night at 10-6, while the Charlotte Hornets were trying to stop a skid at 4-13.

Hart didn’t just score; he controlled the game. Per ESPN , he scored 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting, 3-of-3 from deep, with four rebounds and four assists in 20 minutes, giving the Knicks just the kind of two-way spark they need with Landry Shamet sidelined with a shoulder injury.

Karl-Anthony Towns bullied Charlotte inside with 14 points and seven rebounds early in the third, while Jaylen Brunson added 31 points as the Knicks’ offense hummed along on nearly 60 percent shooting from the field and better than 50 percent from long range. Mikal Bridges scored 12 and Myles McBride gave them 13 efficient points to round out a starting five that looked completely under control.

On the other side, Brandon Miller tried to keep the Charlotte Hornets going with 13 points, but LaMelo Ball shot 3-of-11 out of the gate and Charlotte just couldn’t exchange shots with Hart and the Knicks.
