Jr. Holiday digested his departure from Boston well
six months agoTHE Celtics decided to sacrifice himself Jrue Holiday by sending to Portland (in exchange for Anferni Simmons). An outcome he was somehow preparing for, thanks to honesty Brad Stevens.
« Brad let me know that a transfer was possible and I am grateful. He even told me that it might not happen and that he didn’t know. A champion with the Celtics in 2024, the leader could not be retained by the Massachusetts franchise. He also let Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford and Luca Cornett slip away, for reasons of austerity, in the heart of this season a priori without great ambitions after a serious injury to Jayson Tatum.
A new challenge that suits him

« We always have to sacrifice something. And I think the willingness to do that is what makes everyone a little bit better later on. Perhaps leading by example pushes others to make a little sacrifice. But I think I’ve always been that kind of player. and the fact that he finds himself in a more important, central role is quite pleasant » concludes the one who also appreciates, to be closer to his family.
