JT Miller’s injury won’t keep him out of the Olympics

The New York Rangers 5-4 shootout win over Philadelphia Flyers. The team comes away with the win, their second straight win The Rangers got an elite goalkeeperg lately. In the process of the last victory, they lost JT Miller to injury. It’s Miller it is considered from week to week after the injury, and there is also a focus on his Olympic future.
The injury, which occurred midway through the third period against the Flyers, is not expected to affect his selection to Team USA for the Winter Olympics in Milan in February 2026. Miller suffered an upper-body injury in the game. Miller is an American-born forward who represented the United States at the World Junior Championship in 2013. He was also part of the North American U23 team at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.
Miller was also part of the United States’ roster at the 4 Nations Face-Off. He played in all four games with the team, but did not have a point. Still, he is a major part of the offense for the New York Rangers, as noted by head coach Mike Sullivan.
“He just means so much to this team,” Sullivan noted as the team prepared to play again Sunday. “I think he’s the leader of this group in a lot of ways, emotionally with the way he plays the game. I think his game has really developed as well; I think his game has really started to come, especially offensively. … I’ve talked to him, I know he’s felt better and better every game he’s played. It seems like in this early part of the season, every time he starts, but we’ve been able to build our game. JT is not easy to replace. He’s a great player first and foremost, but he affects this team on many different ways.
The Rangers are now 18-15-4 on the year, which puts them in sixth place in the Metropolitan Division. They’re just one win out of a playoff spot, though, and the Rangers return to the ice Sunday night, without Miller, against the Nashville Predators.
