Jusuf Nurkić underwent nose surgery at the end of the season

Utah Jazz has had a string of injuries in the past few weeks, and they just announced another one, like Jusuf Nurkic will miss it the rest of the seasonaccording to NBA insider Chris Haynes.
“BREAKING: Utah Jazz starting center Jusuf Nurkic will undergo nose surgery on Wednesday that will sideline him for the rest of the season, league sources tell me,” Haynes wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Nurkic missed the last few games due to injury and will now be out for the season. The Jazz just announced over a week ago that Jaren Jackson Jr. will miss the rest of the season as he undergoes surgery on his left knee to ensure his long-term health.
The Jazz have been one of the topics of conversation for the past month due to heated allegations, and the recent Nurkic news probably doesn’t make those claims any better. The Jazz were fined earlier this month for sitting Jackson and Lauri Markkanen in the fourth quarter of one of their games, but head coach Will Hardy noted they have a playing limit.
The league must have thought otherwise, as they try to come down on teams who intentionally throw games for better draft positioning in the future.
A memo was recently sent to all 30 CEOs NBA plans to change anti-tank rules for next season, which included first-round picks can only be protected from the top 4 or top 14+, lottery odds are frozen at the trade deadline or a later date, and other scenarios.
The Jazz are currently 18-39 and 13th in the Western Conference standings, and given the recent injuries, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them continue to slide as the season continues. That would help them have a better chance of getting the top pick, which could help them build their team with more exceptional talent.
