Karl-Anthony Towns suffers bloody injuries against the Nuggets



New York Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns had to be taken out early in their game against the Denver Nuggets at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday due to injury.

Towns was trying to score in the closing seconds of the first quarter when he collided with Spencer Jones. That opened the incision above Towns’ eye, leaving him bloodied, as he punched Jones in the forehead.

“Karl-Anthony Towns received stitches above his right eye after colliding with the Nuggets’ Spencer Jones. Although Towns is back on the court, Jones remains in the Nuggets locker room and is questionable to return,” ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel reported.

The Knicks are on the road right now. They are looking for their eighth straight win and Towns is a big part of their hot streak.

Before the final spurt, the Knicks fell, prompting them to hold a players-only meeting. It seems to have worked, as they are back on their feet.

Jones recorded three rebounds, one steal and one block in 12 minutes.

The Nuggets are coming off back-to-back losses to the Oklahoma City Thunder and Detroit Pistons.
