Karlo Matkovic hits a great lob from Zion Williamson at half court

The New Orleans Pelicans put their four-game winning streak on the line on Monday as they hosted the Dallas Mavericks at the Smoothie King Center.
Buoyed on by the home crowd, the Pelicans got off to a strong start, highlighted by a beautiful connection in between Zion Williamson and Karlo Matković.
After a defensive stop, Williamson knocked the ball down. He saw Matković running on the other side of the floor. Williamson made a precise pass from half the field, and Matković resolutely hit home finish the play.
The fans were definitely delighted with the team.
The Pelicans seemingly unlocked something by getting Williamson off the bench, and they don’t expect that to change anytime soon. The oft-injured striker said he is ready to play any role, as long as they are successful. Coach of New Orleans James Borrego used a unique analogy for his new strategy.
“Williamson has a lot of gold coins that I can use. I just want to be the most efficient with the gold coins that I have. That’s it. Nothing hard. That’s all I have, so right now we’re figuring out the best way to maximize those minutes,” Borrego said.
As for Matkovic, he may not be getting heavy minutes, but he continues to show that he can still contribute. He’s an agile big who can provide toughness on both ends. He is third on the team’s depth chart for the center position behind Derrick Quinn and Yves Missy.
Although they have been playing well lately, c The Pelicans have been linked to trade rumorsnotably including Williamson, Trey Murphy III and Herb Jones.
