Kawhi Leonard has a hilarious New Year’s resolution for James Harden


Kawhi Leonard continues to humand the Los Angeles Clippers they followed his trail. Leonard couldn’t have asked for a better start to the new calendar year, as he scored 45 points on 16-29 shooting from the field to lead the Clippers to their sixth straight victory in a 118-101 victory over the Utah Jazz.

Leonard has been on a hot streak lately and seems to have put his injury woes completely in the rearview mirror. He looks like one of the best players in the NBA right now, and there seems to be no stopping him and the Clippers’ rise as they look to redeem themselves from a terrible start to the 2025-26 campaign.

But there really is a way to make the start of 2026 even better for Leonard. Specifically, he’s looking for his candidate to be the Clippers’ all-star candidate James Harden to make this particular change in his eating habits in a hilarious clip which was played at the Intuit Dome on Thursday during halftime.

“Happy New Year. And I have a New Year’s resolution for my teammate James Harden. I want to see if he can eat food without sticking it in his chin,” Leonard said, via SI’s Joey Lynn .

Leonard has played out of sorts during the Clippers’ current streak; over the last six games, he’s averaging 39 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 4.2 points (steals plus blocks) on extremely efficient 53/44/94 shooting.

It is not entirely clear how long Leonard can sustain this level of play. But for someone with an extensive injury history, this is nothing short of incredible. It looked like he was already on the decline of his career, with injuries preventing him from ever reaching his full potential. But Leonard has been unlocked lately and has been the best player in the league for the past few weeks.
