Kawhi Leonard, John Collins get injury info against Magic

The LA Clippers sat out Game 2 of the All-Star break against the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night, but have bigger concerns about their injury status Kawhi Leonard and John Collins.

Kawhi Leonard left Friday night’s game with 5:10 left in the fourth quarter. He returned to the Clippers locker room and was quickly shut down by the team for the rest of the game.

He is listed as “Questionable” for Sunday night’s game vs Orlando Magic due to left ankle pain.

John Collins went for an alley-oop attempt late in the first half, but was inadvertently tripped up by Jackson Hayes and suffered a head injury with 18.6 seconds left in the second quarter.

He was ruled out of Sunday’s game with neck pain and a cut on his head.

on sunday, Kawhi Leonard has passed his regular warm-up routine and was upgraded to “Available” against the Magic. Additionally, head coach Tyronn Lue said forward John Collins has not been diagnosed with a concussion but is dealing with the effects of a laceration that required stitches above his eye.

Kobe Sanders will start in place of Collins, and Leonard is expected to have some sort of minutes restriction due to the back-to-back set and ankle injury.

In 43 games this season, Kawhi Leonard is averaging 27.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.0 steals per game for the Clippers, who are 23-20 with Leonard in the lineup and 2-9 without him.

John Collins played in 53 games for the Clippers this season, averaging 13.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.0 assists for the Clippers while shooting 56.5 percent from the field and 42.7 percent from three.
