Keldon Johnson played the role of barber Victor Wembanyama

Victor Vembanyama it has a new look, sort of. The San Antonio Spurs superstar showed up to the pregame shootaround against the Milwaukee Bucks with a bald head. Like a teammate Keldon Johnson – who speaks his mind haircuts were courtesy of each other the night before.

ClutchPoints asked the longest serving Spur about getting rid of all of Wemby’s hair.

“It took me a good minute,” Johnson replied. “I was trying to be careful because he was hit. He had a knot on his head, so I was trying to make sure everything went smoothly. I took my time.”

The 26-year-old striker went into detail about his brief stint as a barber.

“I had to fade it a little at first, you know? Then I gave him a little bowl and then we just went from there.”

Johnson shared the background behind the new work for each.

“My best friends, they’re all bald. So, I told my teammates I was going bald, but we had a nationally televised game, so I couldn’t go bald last week.

And then last night Vic said, ‘Yo, let’s go bald.’ And I said, ‘Let’s do it.’ “I was looking for a reason to do it,” Johnson added.

That’s when seven-year-old Spur then he discovered their haircuts, though he noticed a big difference.

“Vic cut my hair. Vic shaved my head and then I shaved his head.”

“He was good. He was quick with it,” Johnson added, “No lie, Vic probably took three minutes. Boom, boom, boom, knock it down. Boom! I’m like, ‘Wow!’ I was cold. I was actually a little more nervous about the game. i’m playing No, it was cool. It wasn’t a problem.”

On the other hand, aside from taking the time to shave off all of Wemby’s hair, Johnson said he didn’t have to overcome any obstacles.

“He sat on the seat,” the Kentucky alum replied when playfully asked if he needed a ladder to cut off his 7-foot-7 teammate’s locks. “Got it. I need to work on my skills, my scissors. You know, maybe I’ll be a barber after I’m done, all said and done.”

Wemby’s look is back in the summer

During an eventful summer, Vembanjama famously spent some time with the Shaolin monks in China. Then he shaved his head.

“No, he didn’t really try to talk me into going there,” Johnson said when asked if his teammate tried to recruit him for the Asia trip.

“I think I’d like the experience, though,” the 2019 first-round pick continued. “I feel like it would be a great experience. I wouldn’t dismiss the idea. I feel like it would be a great experience. Well, maybe I’ll try something like that.”

After shaving each other’s hair, anything seems possible.
