Perkins said he hadn’t heard Porzingis’ name in weeks and hadn’t done anything in a while. Additionally, he said he doesn’t believe it moved the needle for the Warriors. The The Warriors likely traded Porzingis because they were eliminated from the Giannis Antetokounmpo sweepstakes. It is significant that they needed a big man and wanted to pursue Antetokounmpobut they could not assemble the necessary parts.
Porzingis will be the new starting center, and averaged 17.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game while shooting 45.7% from the floor in just 17 games for the Hawks. He will now join a lineup that includes Stephen Curry, Brandin Podziemski, Moses Moody and Draymond Green. It will also reunite him with Boston Celtics teammate Al Horford.
Kuminga played nearly five seasons for the Warriors. However, his playing time issues, among other factors, led to this trade. Kuminga averaged 12.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game while shooting 45.4% from the floor this season.
The fans had a lot to say about the Porzingis tradewith opinions that consider both sides. Significantly, both will get a change of scene. Even though Porzingis hadn’t been on the Hawks for a long time, it was almost obvious that the experiment probably wasn’t working. Currently, the Warriors are in eighth place in the Western Conference standings, and Porzingis will have the opportunity to help the team return to the playoffs.
