Kenley Jansen confirms plans for World Baseball Classic

More than a month after him made a choice to join Detroit Tigerspitcher Kenley Jansen makes another move. Jansen on Friday officially announced he will play for Holland in 2026 World Baseball Classicby misdemeanor territory.

“It means a lot,” Jansen said. “That’s how my dream started. I feel like it’s something I have to thank them for giving me the opportunity to prove myself in the ’09 Baseball Classic.”

Jansen has been in the big leagues for 16 seasons. He debuted for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2010. He played a total of 11 seasons in LA until 2021. After that, Jansen was traded to the Atlanta Braves in 2022. A year later, he was sent to the Boston Red Sox, where he played from 202024 to 2024 to 2025. Angeles Angels.
Jansen then became a free agent and signed a one-year contract with the Tigers. Detroit finished the season 87-75 and lost to the Seattle Mariners in a five-game ALDS series.
