Kenny Omega reveals his role in Street Fighter 6
Former AEV World Champion and EVP, Kenny Omegais also widely known for his love for video games. Often seen participating in video game competitions and leagues against pros and fellow professional wrestlers, Omega has now taken his love for the game to another level.
“The Cleaner” has now joined the team Street Fighter 6. Sharing a series of pictures in a motion capture suit, Omega announced his role in motion capture for the character Alex.
“I’m incredibly happy to announce that I’ve done some great mocap work as Alex in Street Fighter 6. I can’t wait for you all to see more, he’s my favorite character in Street Fighter.” At the same time, he responded too to the launch trailer of Street Fighter 6’s new DLC on Alex, “It’s almost like looking in a mirror.”
In the trailer, Alex can also be seen performing Omega’s iconic V-Trigger knee strike before executing his finisher, the One Winged Angel. It’s also extremely evident in the trailer that Alex adopts Omega’s iconic body language and fighting stance.
Alex will be joining the Street Fighter 6 Year 3 DLC character list along with Sagat and C. Viper, which were released last year in 2025. The character of Alex will debut in Street Fighter 6 on March 17, 2026. Street Fighter is also set to release an action movie this year, starring Andrew Rom Kojima. Noah Centineo and more.
In addition to his Street Fighter 6 announcement duties, Omega also participated in and won a match on Wednesday at Dynamite against Josh Alexander, marking his first singles competition from AEV All In Texas, where he faced and suffered a loss against Kazuchiko Okada.
