Kevin Durant Applauds Bruce Brown After Garbage Complaint

If Bruce Brown he wanted a fight, he he sure got it from Kevin Durantboth on the scoreboard and in the press after the game. After that Denver Nuggets the guard complained about the “disrespectful” comments after Houston Rockets‘ win on Saturday, Durant didn’t hesitate to fight back.

While Brown complained that he “wished fighting” was allowed in the league, the 14-time All-Star made it clear that his intensity was intentional and that he was unapologetic about it.

“I definitely wanted to get over the line tonight,” Durant said. “It’s basketball, it’s between the lines, it’s not respect, it’s not love.”

Tensions boiled over during the Rockets’ win, and the two exchanged heated words. Brown later told reporters he would have “thought about” dropping the gloves if the rules allowed it, but Durant didn’t seem bothered by the threat. Instead, he gave a farewell that could sting more than the loss itself.

“It’s part of the game,” Durant said. “Some people can talk and play. Some people can’t.”

A subtle dig suggests that Durant felt the game backed up his mouth, while Brown’s focus may have shifted. Durant was Houston’s engine all nightwith 31 points and five assists, 5 of 6 from the field and 10 of 11 free throws. He also talked about how The Rockets team hasn’t won in a long timewhich is why this win meant so much.

The Rockets (record pending) walked away with the win, but the war of words officially set the stage for their next meeting. The “respect” Durant referred to may have gone, but the entertainment value of the rematch has simply increased.
