on new year Houston Rockets started 2026 on the right foot, thoroughly disassembling Brooklyn Nets120-96, on the road. The The Nets were without their best player in Michael Porter Jr.as well as key cogs in the starting lineup in Egor Demin and Terence Mann, who then inserted rookies Danny Wolf and Drake Powell into the starting lineup.
As much as the Nets have given Wolfe and Powell hope for their future NBA prospects, they are still raw and far from being consistent contributors. Rocket star Kevin Durant would confirm that. After all, Wolff’s incredibly bad miss on a shot attempt from outside the arc hilariously ricocheted off Durant’s face and caused the ball to land out of bounds – leading to hilarious joke from the future Hall of Fame.

Wolff has had some promising moments in his first year in the NBA so far. But that shooting must improve if he wants to become an impact player in the league.
Kevin Durant, Rockets keep cruising
Before Christmas, the Rockets were floundering, suffering two straight losses to two of the worst teams in the West (at the time) in the Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Clippers. But since then, they won four in a rowincluding three blowouts, to put it together.
The Rockets’ best player, Alperen Sengun, was tied for two of those wins, opening up a gap for goals and play. Durant, during this current winning streak, has been a rock for the team. On Thursday night, in their win over the Nets, he scored 22 points and dished out a career-high 11 dimes as he continued to prove himself as a perennial wonder.
