Kevin Durant passed Wilt Chamberlain as the all-time leading scorer
Like James Harden, Russell Westbrook encore Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant continues to climb the ranks of the top scorers in history. Except it’s worse. He was just 15 points short of taking seventh place in ownership Wilt Chamberlain.
It was in the third quarter (and in the loss) in Portland, on the winning basket, that the winger of the Rockets managed to overtake “Stilt”, the 100 point manwith his 31,419 points scored between 1959 and 1973.
“It doesn’t impress me when you see his work ethic and what he does every day”, reacted before the meeting Name Udoka. “He continues to do what a young Kevin Durant did: average 30 points. He’s at the end of his career, but it’s impressive to do it every night.”adds Tiago Splitter.
With his 31,435 points, Kevin Durant is now the seventh leading scorer in NBA history. It’s already huge, but surpassing the one that blew up the stalls in the 1960s, and which remains a myth, is even more delicious.
Dirk Nowitzki outperformed in several matches

We’ve heard about the legend of Wilt for so long, since I was a kid without ever seeing him play.”, he told the 2014 MVP before this trip to Oregon. “When we look at the stats, we can’t even fathom how a player can average 50 points and 25 rebounds. Rebounds, blocks, he’s done it all. It’s crazy to be in the Top 10 with him, but to have a chance to pass him is pretty nice.”
Next target for Kevin Durant? Dirk Nowitzki, by which he was greatly inspiredand his 31,560 points.
The Houston winger is just 125 points shy of the German in sixth place, and given his current pace, he should need no more than five matches. See you in a few days…
