Kevin Durant sends a Cooper Flagg warning to the rest of the NBA

Much has been said about the method Cooper Flagg began life in the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks. Coach Jason Kidd, Flagg, slotted in at the point guard position so far he averaged 13.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and three assists per game, far from the expectations placed on the Mavericks star.
However, the two-time NBA champion and one of the all-time leading scorers, Kevin Durant had nothing but praise for Flagg.
“I think he’s going to be a hell of a player. I think he’s going to be such a nightmare … that … he’s going to be considered one of the best of all time,” Durant said recently DallasHoopsJournal.com. The Houston Rockets The Star claimed there could be an adjustment period for the 18-year-old, but believes Flagg is destined for superstardom.
“I think in college you’re going to play the four and the five, you’re going to play point guard, two guards. It’s going to be an adjustment period for everybody,” he explained, citing his case as an example.
“I hate to get into his (situation), but I came into college playing the four, the five. I came into the league playing the two. So, it’s like position changes can really throw you off early in your career, but I think he’s still working through it and having good games, you know?” he said.
Durant clearly believes it’s only a matter of time before Flagg gets used to the NBA.
“It’s just a matter of time before he gets it and it clicks for him. He really understands what his role is – I think the sky’s the limit for him,” he said.
Flagg’s elite two-way potential is evident despite his slow start in the league. Durant believes Flagg is still making good plays and will eventually play his best.
